Johnny J's Pub & Grille, Portage Lakes (3333 Manchester Rd #3, Akron, OH 44319) is an Irish-style pub with sports on the screens, kitchen open until 2am (venue closes 2:30am). We're hiring a Kitchen Manager to run daily kitchen operations, lead and train kitchen staff, and maintain food quality and ticket times through busy service, including the pub's weekly specials like Thursday's sirloin steak and Friday's fish fry.

What you'll do:
- Manage all daily kitchen operations in a high-volume restaurant environment
- Lead, supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff
- Step onto the line and support the team during peak hours
- Maintain food quality, consistency, and ticket times during busy service
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards are consistently met
- Assist with hiring, scheduling, training, and staff development
- Monitor inventory, food prep, ordering, and food cost controls
- Ensure kitchen safety and compliance with all health regulations
What you'll need:
- Previous kitchen management experience required
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to lead efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Experience managing labor, inventory, and kitchen operations
- Reliable, organized, and team-oriented
- Ability to multitask and solve problems quickly during service
- Nights and weekends required
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Schedule: Full-time, with nights and weekends required to match the pub's daily 11am–2:30am hours.
