You'll guide guests through the menu, keep drinks and plates moving, and read a room well enough to know when to chat and when to hustle. What you'll do:
- Greet tables, explain specials, and make menu recommendations that fit each guest's taste
- Enter orders accurately in the POS and relay allergy or modification notes to the kitchen
- Carry trays, refill drinks, and time courses so tables never feel rushed or ignored
- Run credit cards, split checks, and close out tabs at the end of each shift
- Reset and bus your own tables between seatings during busy rushes
- Upsell appetizers, desserts, and drink specials without being pushy
- Communicate with bartenders, bussers, and kitchen staff to keep tickets moving
What you'll need:
- 6+ months of serving or customer-facing experience (restaurant, retail, or hospitality)
- Able to carry loaded trays and stand or walk for a full shift (up to 8 hours)
- Comfortable using a POS system and handling cash and card transactions
- Ohio Responsible Alcohol Seller/Server certification, or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Authorized to work in the United States
Nice to have:
- Wine, beer, or craft cocktail knowledge
